ADULT CHILDREN OF ALCOHOLICS is a support group for adults who grew up in alcoholic or other dysfunctional family situations. Understanding the effects of these circumstances in order to change self-defeating behavior patterns, improve self-esteem and self-confidence, and constructively express feelings are some of the goals of the group. ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS is a support group for chemically dependent individuals striving to recover from dependency on alcohol and/or other chemical substances. A spiritually based program, AA uses a 12-step recovery program and offers tremendous support to its members. For a meeting schedule and other information call 346-9714.

ALCOHOL-DRUG EDUCATION CLASSES FOR ADULTS for information call 592-0639 or (http://lfsneb.org).

AL-ANON is a support and recovery group for individuals, who were raised in dysfunctional families and/or may be partnered with individuals with whom they are unhealthily entangled and focused upon and unable to break this pattern. Loss of self-worth, focus on exterior solutions to internal problems, and continuing to try to change the unchangeable (person or circumstances) are some behavioral symptoms of co-dependency. NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS is a support group for individuals striving to recover from an addiction to chemical substances. For a meeting schedule and other information call (402) 660-3662 or (http://www.na.org/).

WOMEN FOR SOBRIETY a self-help support group for women as an alternative to alcoholics anonymous. Meetings are held at the YMCA, 322-7837 or (http://www.ywcaomaha.org).

YMCA - MEN AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE is a support/recovery program for men who have been physically violent and/or verbally abusive, have problems dealing with their anger, and want to change these behaviors. Call 345-6555.

YMCA - WOMEN'S SUPPORT GROUP is for women who have been victims of abuse and want support and counseling. Call 345-6555.
