BUILDING TWO
HOMES FROM ONE: This is a four session workshop for divorced/divorcing
parents and their children, to help establish effective communication,
to vent and deal with their feelings about the divorce, and begin the
post-divorce healing process. Parents also learn how to deal with each
other in a cooperative non-conflicting manner that will help the children
make a more positive adjustment to divorce. For additional information
call Family Service, 553-3000 or (http://www.familyservicemidlands.org).
PARENTING CLASSES:
Single parents often become more conscious of their parenting skills,
and there are many parenting courses offered in the community. Many
of the local mental health agencies such as Family Service, Lutheran
Family Social Services, Catholic Charities, Alegent Health Care Services
and Boys Town make these classes available. Check with your preferred
agency, center, or this office for more specific details.
STEPFAMILY CLASSES:
These are excellent resources for people who are remarried or planning
to remarry and help to assure a smoother transition for adults and children.
BUILDING HEALTHY
STEPFAMILIES - One evening per week 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. for 4 weeks.

and loyalty conflicts both parents and children experience in blending
families Gary Lehmer, 330-6060.
BLENDED FAMILIES
- (4 sessions). Covers many of the same topics and helps participants
to develop realistic expectations and learn parenting and appropriate
communication skills. Call Family Service, 553-3000 or (http://www.familyservicemidlands.org).
