The Douglas County Adult Drug Court employs a Drug Court Coordinator, Drug Court Clinical Director, Drug Court Treatment Coordinator, five (5) Dually-licensed Drug Court Counselor positions, one Secretarial position, one full time Drug Court Drug Screener position and one part time Drug Court Drug Screener position.
In the Drug Court Track One, one retired District Court Judge oversees and performs the judicial responsibilities needed at this level. This retired District Court Judge eagerly came out of retirement in 1998 to head the Drug Court movement in the state of Nebraska. The Judge is appointed and paid by the Nebraska Supreme Court.
In the Drug Court Track Two, two District Court Judges sit the bench and split the Drug Court judicial responsibilities.
Personnel policies and procedures of the Drug Court staff are administered through the Douglas County District Court.
The Douglas County Adult Drug Court operates three days of Drug Court a week. Track One operates on a Tuesday / Thursday basis with court reviews starting roughly an hour prior open court, and open court starting at 2:30
P.M. Track Two operates on Wednesday afternoons, starting with court reviews at 1:00 P.M. and open court at 2:00 P.M.
