Introduction

General Use

The Douglas County Law Library is a division of the District Court. The County, with the assistance of the Omaha Bar Association, maintains the collection and the library is open to attorneys and the public. The materials in the Library are available for use on the premises only. there are copy machines available for self-service copying. The library staff is available to assist you in using the library.

Telephones
Private study rooms with telephones are available. The library staff does not take messages or perform other secretarial duties.
Collection
The Library holdings include all state statutes,all regional and federal reporters, federal statutory and regulatory material, and a good selection of research material including: Digests, Shepard's, American Jurisprudence, CJS, Practice sets, NCLE material and treatises.
The Library carries most Nebraska information including: reporters, advance sheets, slip opinions, Legislative service, administrative information, rules services, and practice material. You can use our card catalog or ask the staff for assistance in finding materials.
Electronic Media
The Library has public access computers available for internet access, word processing, and access to electronic databases. Library staff will assist you in accessing our electronic databases. Resources are available on the internet through West Group and CCH. Ask the Librarian for assistance with computer research.
As the computers are County Property, please obey all rules and regulations regarding internet usage from a county computer.
Copy and Fax Machines
Copies are charged at $0.20 per page
Fax charges are $1.00 per page up to 5 pages, $0.50 per page thereafter
Computer printouts are currently charged at $0.20 per page
Sale of pre-copied packets of information are available to the public on a variety of topics
